About Me

My name is Fallon Patricia Benner, and I am a current Public Relations post graduate student at Niagara College. Previously, I attended the University of Western Ontario where I received my double major, with honours, in English Language and Literature, as well as Philosophy.

During my undergrad studies I focused on ethics and global literature (Philosophy, and English prospectively). I also took electives in Gender Studies and Psychology. Essentially, human behaviour and the reasons behind such behaviour have always fascinated me. I am a major advocate for the fair and equal treatment of all peoples.

That is what inspired me to write this blog. Each week I will be looking to the past as a way to make sense of the present. What I mean to say is I will be looking at acts of chivalry which have either evolved or persisted into our modern world.

This will help to tease out the larger social implications such customs have embedded within them. After examining the historical context, and the custom itself I will offer a verdict as to whether this custom should continue or cease and desist. The verdict will be based on whether or not the act in question is harmful or injurious in any way to any persons involved.
